Introduction to Rivo Security Infrastructure

Get started with Rivo.xyz by diving into our onboarding guides. Here is a brief overview of what you will find:

Safeguarding one’s investments is paramount within the rapidly evolving world of decentralized finance (DeFi). It is reported that cryptocurrency users lost approx. $2 billion to scams, rug pulls, and hacks in 2023. Similarly, over the course of Q1 2024, the industry saw its total losses climb to $348M, with experts predicting this trend to continue in the near to mid-term.

It is in this context that Rivo, a yield marketplace featuring a smart contract wallet, has placed a strong emphasis on developing a robust security infrastructure to protect its users. At the heart of our security approach lie a number of tools and resources that seek to enhance user safety. These include:

Non-Custodial Platform and Audited Providers

Unlike intermediary platforms that store user funds, Rivo is a non custodial offering that directly connects investors to DeFi protocols through its audited providers, Enso and Portals. This approach reduces the risk of losses associated with third-party custodians.

To elaborate, Enso is a unified DeFi application programming interface (API) that enables users to conveniently interact with any DeFi primitive — i.e. generic building blocks designed to efficiently and reliably perform one task such as escrow, lending, borrowing, etc. On the other hand, Portals is a yield and protocol aggregator providing transaction bundling, any-to-any (token) swaps, and real-time data for a wide range of DeFi assets.

Strategies

Our team of experts carefully analyzes and selects only proven and audited DeFi strategies for implementation on the platform, ensuring a high level of security and reliability. Popular ones include the USDT Lending strategy by Venus, which, as the name suggests, employs stablecoins. It boasts of a TVL exceeding $277.7M while having undergone a total of three audits from reputed security entities like CertikQuantstamp, and Fairyproof.

Similarly, the ETH Liquidity Pool strategy by Hop Finance offers users an APY of 9.5% while featuring a really low-risk level. To this point, it has undergone audits by Solidified and Clean Unicorn. Lastly, the Gearbox ETH strategy allows investors to accrue interest (= 22.5% APY) alongside Renzo ezETH points. Borrowers on the platform use the supplied ETH to farm a variety of leverage-based DeFi strategies. The strategy possesses a TVL of over $78 million.

Auto-Compounder

To streamline the investment process and maximize one’s returns, Rivo is using Beefy’s highly acclaimed auto-compounder module. It automates the reinvestment of earned interest, thereby eliminating the need for manual claims and reinvestment actions that can be costly and inconvenient.

Furthermore, the module employs various optimization strategies tailored to Beefy’s unique vaults (mooVaults), ensuring that yields are optimized for maximum efficiency across Rivo’s DeFi strategies. Lastly, Beefy is constantly undergoing audits, having already cleared nine security inspections, including those performed by Certic, Zellic, zapAudit and Cyfrin.

Smart Contract Wallet

Rivo’s self-custodial wallet offers two-factor authentication for added security, a multi-signature system for joint management, and transaction limits for risk control, further strengthening asset protection. Based on the ERC-4337 smart contract standard, our Account Abstraction (AA) wallet enables users to establish their wallets using just a Google or social media account, providing them with a friendly and low-risk wallet solution that eliminates the need for securely storing seed phrases and private keys.

User-Friendly Features

Rivo has crafted an accessible and intuitive platform interface designed to minimize errors during transactions, enhancing user safety and efficiency. For example, our notification system promptly informs users of transaction updates, strategy adjustments, or any suspicious activities, enabling them to swiftly react to events that could put at risk their funds.

Furthermore, it gives users real-time updates on changes to the strategies they have invested in. This includes information regarding strategy APY, risk assessments, fluctuations in total value locked (TVL), and the ability to access archived strategies. Not only that, in cases where negative situations surrounding some protocols have arisen — with users withdrawing liquidity in large sums — our system has immediately notified our users about it.

Educational Resources

We provide our users with seamless access to an extensive library of educational material, including articles published on the platform’s official blog, comprehensive information on the docs portal, and short video tutorials. These resources can help users gain a deeper understanding of DeFi principles and learn effective strategies for minimizing investment-related risks.

Rivo also provides detailed information about each strategy on its relevant page, such as risks, audits, pros and cons, and an overall safety score (ranging up to 100 points). By equipping users with this knowledge, we seek to maximize enhances their confidence and competence in managing their own portfolios.

Looking ahead

By integrating the aforementioned security features, Rivo aims to provide users with a secure and confidence-instilling investment experience. Therefore, as the DeFi landscape continues to evolve, Rivo’s commitment to safeguarding user assets remains a top priority. In the near future, our goal is to empower investors, helping them navigate the exciting opportunities presented by this space — with complete peace of mind.
